• Excision of transverse vaginal septum

    Summary: AJ is a 13 year old who presented to PAG clinic as a referral to discuss a possible imperforate vaginal septum after she had presented to her Pediatrician with a three month history of worsening pelvic pain. She had not reached menarche. A CT demonstrated hematometra and blood filled vagina. On physical exam, there was complete obstruction approximately 0.5cm cephalad to the hymenal fringe without bulge on Valsalva. An MRI was ordered to further delineate the obstruction and renal/pelvic anatomy.
