    The term corneal allogenic intrastromal ring segments, or CAIRS, refers to the intra-channel placement of allogenic tissue for the treatment of corneal ectasia.
    The allogenic tissue can be from any source, including fresh-cut CAIRS, unprocessed or processed CAIRS, and preserved or packaged CAIRS with or without modifications and with or without storage and shelf-life capabilities.
