    Adenomyosis is a benign disease characterized by the presence of endometrial-like tissue in the myometrium. Diffuse adenomyosis is the most common form, which usually affects women over 30 years of age, while the cystic form, which is very rare, typically affects younger women. Symptoms include chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea and menometrorrhagia.The first case of juvenile cystic adenomyosis was published in 1996 by Tamura in a 16-year-old patient. Since then, less than 40 cases have been reported in the literature.
