• Penile pearls in a newborn

    A male newborn infant born at term gestation, appropriate for gestational age), was noted at delivery to have genital lesions. The infant was born to a primigravida mother with adequate prenatal care. Her antenatal period was uneventful. The infant had two distinct 5-7 mm, smooth, glistening pearly-white papules at the tip of the penis. These papules over the penile glans were adherent and limited the inspection of the urethral meatus , but the infant passed urine well. The visual appearance of these lesions was diagnostic of penile Epstein pearls.
