    Even as COVID-19 infections fall here and the White House promised to dramatically boost the lagging supply of vaccines, local leaders said Thursday they were worried about a highly contagious coronavirus strain first identified in the U.K. that has some health officials urging people to “double-mask” in public and federal authorities talking about a travel ban. Florida leads the nation in the number of known cases of the B.1.1.7 strain. Researchers says the variant now accounts for up to 15% of new cases statewide.
