Clinically, it is characterized by joint pain, tenderness, limitation of movement, crepitus, effusion and variable degrees of inflammation.Osteoarthritis , sometimes termed degenerative arthritis, is the most common type. Other types result from infection, metabolic conditions, skeletal dysplasias, trauma and inflammatory arthritides (eg, rheumatoid arthritis [RA] and psoriatic arthritis), crystalline deposition disease, and neuropathic disorders.
